It's common to the point of being a cliche to say that the future of the West is a mixed race majority. One possible complicating factor- what is the fertility rate of such couples? Intuitively, I'd expect it to be somewhat lower then average

Why?

Looking for data on this brings up a Pew study from 2017.  It doesn't directly address the birth rate of interracial couples, but a couple of data points I found interesting:

Quote
One-in-seven U.S. infants (14%) were multiracial or multiethnic in 2015, nearly triple the share in 1980
Quote
In 1980, 7% of all newlyweds were in an intermarriage, and by 2015, that share had more than doubled to 17%

Taking Clarence Thomas as an example, he has one child with his first (black) wife, but no children with his second (white) wife.  Therefore, based on this sample, black couples have a 100% fertility rate, whereas interracial black-white couples have a 0% fertility rate, unfortunately.

This should be preserved forever as the ultimate example of Atlas statistical analysis. Wink
