Is there are any other President who would have gotten into this kind of public name-calling with a Senator of his own party?  I can't think of anyone recent.  Andrew Jackson and Andrew Johnson may have had the temperament for it, but I don't know if they had that kind of disdain for any Senators of their own party.

It would be interesting to see his favorability before and after, especially by party ID.

I don't doubt that Corker asked for the endorsement if he were to run again; it's a normal thing to want from a President of your own party.  But he would have won re-election easily even without it.
