LOL. I actually expected Trump to improve with the NK crisis because people usually rally behind their leader in such times. But likely that most Americans actually blame him for the situation, since he had a very poor performance there (or anywhere).

Justin Trudeau had a good performance with NK. He sent a high-level official there for diplomacy and secured the release of Canada's only prisoner. This success was ignored by the U.S. I didn't even see it on the front page of the WaPo or NY Times.

I don't know about the WaPo or NYT, but I did see it on CNN at the time: http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/09/asia/north-korea-canada-pastor-hyeon-soo-lim/index.html

According to the tweet, they were 39/52 in July, so that should be -3 on Disapprove.

Sadly, Trump knows what he's doing with his response. He is playing right into what a lot of righties already believe. "He did condemn the neo-Nazis, but the media just doesn't hear it. Good for him for calling out those crazy left BLM thugs too."

Increasing his popularity with a shrinking minority at the expense of decreasing his popularity with a growing majority isn't a winning strategy.

Two big takeaways-

1. 48% of Trump supporters think white nationalists are either "right" or "have a point"

2. 31% of the public think the president supports white nationalism.

Versus only 22% who think he opposes it.

Rasmussen, Aug 16:

Approve 40 (25 strongly)
Disapprove 58 (48 strongly)

On Friday he was at 45/53, so that's a net change of -10.

Well, Q has been somewhat bouncy.  The poll before Aug 2 (June 29) was 40/55; the one before that (June 7) was 34/57.

Here's the whole list since the inauguration:

Aug 17, 2017 39 57 4
Aug 02, 2017 33 61 5
Jun 29, 2017 40 55 5
Jun 07, 2017 34 57 9
May 24, 2017 37 55 7
May 10, 2017 36 58 6
Apr 19, 2017 40 56 4
Apr 04, 2017 35 57 8
Mar 22, 2017 37 56 7
Mar 07, 2017 41 52 7
Feb 22, 2017 38 55 7
Feb 07, 2017 42 51 7
Jan 26, 2017 36 44 19

From what I've seen in quotes (I've had him on Ignore for a while), I'm really starting to wonder if it's a parody account.

Approve 51%
Disapprove 42%

Sen. Corker approval is 34/47 (but he still wins against Generic Democrat 47/37).

PPP also has a national poll in the field this weekend.

I wish California secession would gain more traction. When will Californians realize the rest of the country hates them and they have no real representation.

Dafuq?

I think Beet is day drinking

Trump is popular and people are lying to pollsters. California doesn't count. Right wing Twitter is actually correct about this.

Yes, yes, because surging from 35% to 38% approval is just spectacular.

That includes California.

Yes, Trump is more popular in some states than others.  This is news?

AmericanResearchGroup national poll
Trump Job Approval:
Approve - 33%
Disapprove - 62%

http://americanresearchgroup.com/economy/

Under 30% and he's going to jail.
Poll of doubtful source, left pathetic

Wasn't ARG one of the few pollsters who were fairly accurate in 2016?  Or am I remembering that wrong?

I don't know about 2016 specifically, but overall they have a C+ rating from 538 based on 260 polls, with a negligible bias (R+0.1).

75/25 among Republicans is NOT good for Trump.

Politico/Morning Consult:

39% Approval (20% Strongly)
56% Disapprove (43% Strongly)

Source

These are Trump's worst numbers for this poll. Only 73% of Republicans approve of Trump.

If this continues, it spells midterm disaster for the GOP.

PPP - National:

40% Approve
53% Disapprove

Source

For comparison, in July PPP had 41/55.  Some other tidbits from the new poll:

Generic Congressional ballot is 49 D, 35 R.  Congress approval is 9/73, McConnell is 9/61, Ryan is 16/62.

48/41 in favor of impeachment.  46/37 think the Russia story is not "fake news".  Also:

If evidence comes out that proves conclusively that members of Donald Trump’s campaign
team worked in association with Russia to help Trump win the election for President, do you
think Trump should continue to serve as President, or do you think he should resign?

Resign: 54
