Considering how blood-thirsty the GOP primary voters were, I doubt this would have hurt Trump too much during the primaries.

I disagree, this would have ended him even in the primaries. The party would have ditched him in Cleveland if necessary.

Trump had a sizable plurality of primary voters that wouldn't have cared about this at all. They would praise him for being real. I saw a tweet from a woman dismissing this as "just how men talk". Even at the convention the party couldn't have gotten rid of him without a riot on the floor.

Well, isn't it true? Isn't this just how men talk? And be honest for once.

Maybe some men you know, but none that I do.

Impossible, Ryan is incredibly popular locally.

Isn't his district something like R+3?  That would seem to be at least theoretically within reach in case of a Democratic wave.

Well, Trump is certainly right about people underestimating how loyal his supporters are. If a video of Trump applauding Adolf Hitler surfaced, people like Seriously wouldn't flinch for a second and he probably wouldn't even drop in the WV polls.

A fanatically loyal vote counts for 1 vote -- exactly the same as a grudging, lesser-of-two-evils vote.  George McGovern and Walter Mondale both drew very large and enthusiastic crowds.

Three team Trump backers on CNN saying nothing Trump does will stop their support. Predicting this will work in his favor since this was "orchestrated by the elites" and he will come out ahead over this. -_-

How in the world will he come out ahead?  He doesn't lose those supporters, but they were already in his camp.  He undoubtedly will lose some of his supporters.  Do you really think that this will gain him any new ones?
