Well we're less than 90 minutes away from the deadline and there is still ZERO insight as to what is going on or whether the commission will even finish their maps tonight.

They posted the first drafts nearly two months ago, and it seems they have done no work since then to refine anything or learn the mapping tools they're using. The public is getting no opportunity to see what sort of tweaking they're doing.

This is absolute stunningly pathetic incompetence on display.
Is this a case of the law behind the commission being flawed, or does the fault lie with the commissioners themselves?

What a disaster. Dems should either scrap the committee or reform it into something less dysfunctional. The only other commission that just didn't work the way this one didn't is Virginia's, which was designed to fail, so I'm skeptical there aren't serious structural issues with this one.
