The Boston suburbs seem like a great example of the Reagan Democrat phenomenon as Mass. was the only state that did not back Nixon in '72 and of course it's been a Democratic stronghold from 1988 on.
Reagan winning it in 1980 was weird and fluky, mostly a result of Democrats voting for Anderson. Only 9 points to the left of the nation. It then trended left in 1984, so not really a great example of Reagan Democrats.
Massachusetts just hated Nixon. It seems like being Kennedy's opponent permanently ruined the state for him.
