I used to think it wouldn't happen. However, recently the US State Department started warning American travelers to "reconsider travel" to Mainland China, even though China's usually a safer country than the US (at least from the standpoint of crime/gun violence.)
This is what makes me think they know something we don't. Namely, that a Chinese invasion of Taiwan is imminent, and any American who travels to Mainland China in the near future risks being detained and imprisoned a la Brittney Griner. So I voted accordingly in this poll.
