Erdogan/Turkey is not on the tankies list of government they support, in fact as a American "ally" it's used as example of the kind of government USA support. This mean that these genocides have been a way to attack USA. Of course with the shift in USA to recognise the Armenian Genocide the tankies may reposition themselves or they may simply look at Erdogan and decide he's not a hill worth dying on. Erdogan in general fall outside the kind of strongmen tankies tend to like. They tend to like socialist, third worldist and authoritarian secular anti-western nationalists strongmen, they tend not to like religious strongmen or openly economic right wing strongmen. Of course this very much depend on style over substance, Assad as example pushed economic liberalizations and closer relationship with the west before the civil war, but his branding was much more secular nationalist and anti-western.
They will reposition themselves and be pro-Erdogan.
