Because there are brief flashes of sincerity and random details like age, sport and TV show tastes which suggest he is the genuine article.

He operates in bad faith, but he genuinely is a Trump supporter who lives in Virginia. I've been disappointed as I've come to this conclusion, as I'd previously hoped he was playing a far more elaborate game.
