Oh, screw this guy. I'm tired of evangelical crocodile tears. If you weren't sounding the alarm 30 years ago about the depraved, anti-Christ state of this scam religion then I have no interest in what you're saying now. Evangelical "christianity" is no more apostate today than it has been at any point in my lifetime. It's been an unbiblical end-times doomsday cult since before the vast majority of this forum was born.

It's because they fear the secular changing culture. And they see Trump as a bulwark against the changing culture.

Which is pretty ironic, given that he's literally on trial right now for paying off a porno actress that he was cheating on his wife with. Imagine how Republicans would have reacted if Obama or Biden had had that scandal instead.

They have their false god's forgiveness and you don't. That's why they're allowed to sin day and night, without shame and without repentance. If you publicly agree with them, then you have a get out of hell free card. Trump has it, Biden and Obama don't.

Some of our blue avatar Evangelicals, here in Atlas, need to click on the link in the OP, and watch the video. They need to hear the preachers words directly in that video.

There have been multiple conservative-leaning Christian posters on here, including ER and myself, who have ripped Trump for this stunt. It's not a popular move among the faithful.

You can rip Trump all you want, but the fact is that if you believe what the Bible says then there are currently tens of millions of people who think they're saved but are actually going straight to hell because they're elevating men, like Trump for example, to god-like status. Evangelicals are silent on this because they care more about secular political accomplishments than any of God's commandments.

If it were truly Blasphemy, God would strike Donald Trump dead.  There is no forgiveness for blasphemy, and no further purpose for someone's life who commits the sin of aggrieving the Holy Ghost in such a manner.  That hasn't happened.

Wait, what? If a person is alive, they automatically haven't committed blasphemy because God literally kills anyone who does this? You seriously believe this?

Boomer evangelicalism is completely distinct from anything resembling Christianity. This isn't even the most absurd biblical interpretation I've heard from a church-going evangelical in the past two days.

Really do not understand the left wing obsession this month over the SANCTITY of the Bible. Who cares?

It almost makes me want to get my special edition to trigger the fundamentalists, who are a far greater danger than any other ideology. The reactionary tendencies of the majority of organized Christian groups have increased significantly over the last two years. These hate groups need to be infiltrated and stamped out of existence.

I mentioned this in a different thread, but biblical illiteracy is the problem here. The vast majority of evangelicals have never read the Bible (and 99.9% of people on the left have never even opened it) and the evangelicals that have read it rely very heavily on notes and commentary from what we can basically just call evangelical "influencers". Generations have been convinced that they're going to get raptured out of their clothes while they're shopping at Sears, even though none of that crap is in the Bible.

The greatest cure for this is to get these people to crack open a Bible and read it without any of the schizophrenic commentary, but most of them are never going to do it.

Ironcially yes. There are polls that show that evangelicals often spout off false and heretical theology without even knowing it, while being homophobic to the core.

We've got a guy in here saying that if someone is guilty of blasphemy, he'd be dead. Nevermind that Jesus Christ clearly says that all blasphemy can be forgiven except the blasphemy of the Holy Ghost, and even in that case, he said it in response to scribes and pharisees that accused him of being in league with Satan. Those scribes and pharisees were not struck dead for blasphemy at that moment, in fact they were probably the same ones that got Jesus crucified at the end of his ministry.

The only way to believe such a thing is to have never critically read the Bible. I'm not saying that to be mean, it's just how it is. I'd say the same thing if someone told me that Anna Karenina immigrated to America to become a country singer at the end of the story. You just didn't read Anna Karenina very well, lol.

I don't think most denominations think that act alone sends you to hell, lol...

Most Christian fundamentalists would absolutely say that worshiping a man instead of God, or treating a man other than Jesus Christ as though he's equal to God, would send a man to hell if he doesn't repent. Faith alone in Christ alone, yada yada yada.

Blasphemy IS aggrieving the Holy Ghost, period.  If it's not against the Holy Ghost, it's something else.
Lol.

Conservative evangelicals often have the most radical reinterpretations of the Bible.

Everyone is sinful by nature, and most (or dare I say all) of us have idolized one thing or another.  But, that doesn't doom someone to Hell if they've accepted Christ as their Savior.  Yes, idolizing Trump (or any politician) is a sin, but it's not some special sin that makes Salvation impossible.

I'm not talking about people who idolize him. I am talking about people who worship him. For millions of evangelicals, Trump has become a messianic figure. If you can't see this then you are out of touch with your own people.

Which is weird because the Bible isn't even that hard to read or understand. I know a lot of people get intimidated by all that "Thou Shalt"s and "Unto thee"s in the King James Version, but the KJV hasn't been universal for a very long time, with even most Evangelical Churches now using the NIV, which is easily accessible to the average person.

It's a very ancient style of literature regardless of translation. It's not written like pulp novels or self-help books, and most books in the Bible require some historical knowledge to fully understand and appreciate. They don't want to put that kind of effort into the Bible so they just listen to hucksters that tell them every ambiguous verse is actually a reference to current events or the rapture.

I always love it when fake christians justify their dedication to all things sinful by saying that it's making the nation a better place. Find me one verse in the New Testament that encourages Christians to prioritize the state of the world over God. Evangelical worship of Trump (a man who will soon die and burn in hell for all eternity himself) has turned countless millions of people away from the God of the Bible, and these so-called "christians" don't even care. Millions of people burning in hell for all eternity, with no attempt at outreach or witnessing, all so that you can get a conservative Supreme Court to abolish the EPA and take our Miranda rights away. Pathetic. You people might not be the ones who'd have hammered the nails into Jesus Christ's limbs, but you would definitely be the ones heckling him and spitting on him as he carried the cross.
