Yeah, I'm worried some day a state will seriously test this. Imagine actually being able to get away with just packing voters by putting all of the bluest/reddest precincts in a state into a single district.

District 2 on the current TN Congressional map is technically discontinuous but not really for any nefarious reason, just because Loudon County is discontinuous.

Also quite a few state legislative districts I can think of that are discontinuous to abide by precinct/city lines. WI is the best example of this; while the map is gerrymandered, discontinuity really isn't used to enhance the gerrymander, just following city/precinct lines. A lot of the discontinuous pieces have a population of like 5 people lol.
