I think I'd almost rather have Romney and Brown win than vice versa.
Why? I know Mandel is terrible and Brown is supposedly a progressive hero but in the Senate they're relatively anonymous votes for their caucuses. Romney as president would obviously be much worse.
Brown is a liberal, Obama isn't. Plus, some of us would like to see Brown run for President in 2016, even if he's destined to be the runner-up to Clinton or Cuomo.

And he can run a futile campaign for president whether he wins or not. He'll probably win anyway but I just don't understand this line of thinking. I'd give up more than just this Senate seat to keep Obama in the presidency over Romney, especially with the likely Supreme Court vacancies coming in the next 4 years.
