Olawakandi passes the 60,000 post mark:

1) BRTD 97,951
2) Al 64,512
3) olawakandi 60,007
4) Lewis 58,230
5) Tender 58,107
6) Kal 57,447
7) Antonio 54,179
8 ) Phil 52,638
9) North Carolina Yankee 51,265
10) jfern 50,475

OC seems to be posting much more than BRTD lately. I wonder how long it would take for OC to surpass BRTD if they keep their current posting frequency

The gap in posting rate has narrowed quite a bit, as you can see on the stats page:

https://talkelections.org/FORUM/index.php?action=stats

Olawakandi is now just over 1000 posts a month, and slowly trending downward.  While BRTD is at just over 750 posts a month, which is notably higher than his historical average.  If they actually maintained a ~250 posts per month gap, then it would take about 12.5 years for olawakandi to catch up…..at which point they’d both be just over 200,000 posts each(!).  A 250 post per month deficit is just not that big a gap, given how much ground olawakandi has to make up.  It’ll take over a decade at that rate.  You need olawkandi to start posting more or BRTD to start posting less in order to get it done faster.

In other news, we’re continuing to look at a rather long timeframe for any fresh blood to enter the top 10.  Like at least 3 years before someone other than the current top 10 is listed.  The posters outside the top ten who are making 400+ posts a month currently, like Badger, OSR, and Tim Turner, just have way too much ground to make up.  Whereas those in the 40k+ club who are outside the top 10 (like Grumps, Lief, Torie, dead0man, and myself) just aren’t posting enough to reach the top 10 for several years.  But maybe myself and others will pick it up once 2024 approaches.

I think that BRTD may intentionally be posting more lately just to that he can get to the 100k mark. Afterwards, the post per month gap between him and OC may increase. I wonder if OC can reach 75k posts by the end of this year?

So apparently “Number 12 looks just like me.”

With this post, it looks like I’ve surpassed Eraserhead for 12th place.  Since my posting rate has slowed down since the old days, it remains uncertain if I’ll ever make it to #11 (or beyond), or if one or more other posters start passing me to push me further down the list before that happens.

1) BRTD 100,011
2) Al 64,897
3) olawakandi 63,019
4) Lewis 58,217
5) Tender 58,103
6) Kal 57,443
7) Antonio 54,791
8 ) Phil 52,621
9) North Carolina Yankee 51,614
10) jfern 50,879

11) opebo 47,026
12) Mr. Morden 43,766

I wonder how many posts opebo would have if he wasn’t banned

Realpolitik just hit 65k posts. Olawakandi has probably somewhere between 1700 to 2200 posts to go before he surpasses Realpolitik, so it should happen some time during the summer

olawakandi has passed Al to take the #2 spot on the leaderboard:

1) BRTD 101,124
2) olawakandi 65,159
3) Al 65,148
4) Lewis 58,216
5) Tender 58,103
6) Kal 57,439
7) Antonio 54,974
8 ) Phil 52,619
9) North Carolina Yankee 51,950
10) jfern 51,092

This is the first time since 2008 that someone other than Al or Lewis occupies the #2 spot on the list.  Gabu had been #2 at the beginning of 2008, then left the forum forever in Feb. 2008, and both Al and Lewis passed him later in the year.

How long would it take for OC to reach #1 with his and BRTD’s current posting frequencies?

The gap between the posting rate of olawakandi and BRTD has noticeably narrowed, mostly by olawakandi's posting rate slowing down.  At this rate, olawakandi won't take the lead on the leaderboard until late in the year 2039.

Maybe the post in which he passes BRTD will be about how "It's 400 days until the 2040 election."

His dad died and he’s moving to Chicago apparently, so maybe that’s why he’s slowed down
