Thought this story might be interesting to some.  Though "family care" or "filial piety" (孝 xiao), the virtues that enable children to fulfill obligations to their parents, has long been an important Confucian virtue, a Guangzhou based chain in China is mandating that employees show it.  10% of a single employee's salary, and 5% of that of married employees, is deducted from their gross pay and sent to their parents.  Hardly a government-mandated move, and accompanied by some monetary compensation for employees, the move is still rather extraordinary.
