What languages do you speak?

English is my native language.  I can speak standard German and Chinese reasonably well.  I can speak enough Japanese to get by when I'm in the country.  I can read and chant Sanskrit, but not too many people have conversations with it anymore.  

Those are my best languages.  I can read some Latin and French, but am not at all proficient at them.  I'd like to learn Spanish at some point, but realistically speaking, I might not have the time or energy to do it.

It would be great if I knew Finnish.  But it has about fifteen noun cases!!  That's enough to scare me far away.

This is a real linguistic accomplishment, folks,  After all, Lawyerese has more cases than any other language.    Sorry, I know it's a lameass joke--the two large cups of afternoon coffee made me do it.
