Not yet. But it will be before we get around to doing anything about it. I don't think human beings have evolved quite enough yet to have a large capacity to plan ahead very far. When it comes down even to our own survival, we're still very short-sighted, reactive and, worst of all, combative with one another. And that's not going to change quickly enough to allow us to undertake the large-scale efforts that would be necessary to avert a continuation down the road we have put ourselves on where global warming is concerned.
