Regardless, I have come to the conclusion that it is not a good idea to continue creating federal holidays; we have enough, if not too many, as it currently stands.  So I have voted accordingly.

There are plenty of federal holidays that we have inherited from the RL US that could be abolished. Columbus Day and Martin Luther King Day come to mind immediately.
