Let's just remember how low the bar is set for Donald Trump. He didn't need to beat Hillary at all. All he needed was to not look like a rabbling idiot. Of course, he did look like a complete idiot, but probably only to those who actually know politics, which is not the people who are relevant here.

But as usual, the press narrative will be more important than the actual debate.

I remember this from 2012 from you Smiley
I wrote a lot of stuff in 2012, so I'm not sure aht exactly you are referring to? :-)

Anyway, one thing I think benefits Hillary is that it is hard to claim that she is terminally ill or "not able to stand on her own feet" after this debate.

EDIT: Of course, the conspiracy theorists will just claim that the person at the debate was Hillary's body double.

It's obvious that both campaigns think Clinton won the debate, so that ought to make it clear who won. Not that some people won't continue to be cloudy.
One difference between liberals and (at least some) conservatives. Liberals flat out admit it when they lose. I didn't see anybody claim that Obama beat Romney in the first debate in 2012. I didn't see anyone claiming that it was somehow rigged for Romney either.

And let's be real here. Clinton won much bigger against Trump than Romney won against Obama. The only reason one might not think so is because how incredible low the bar was set for Trump.

The guy on the (conservative) Weekly Standard podcast thought that the beatdown of Trump was the biggest beatdown in presidential debate history and looking at it objectively - without the low expectations for Trump clouding perception - I think he was spot on.

I think Trump had the worst general election presidential debate performance in history, but Clinton is unfortunately not charismatic enough for the debates to be the knockout blow, unless Trump has a total meltdown at the town hall or something.
Yeah, I totally agree with that.
