I would appreciate being appointed as the next Assemblyman. I'm one of the only non-Assembly members who is active in the Assembly thread, so I know what is happening in the Mideast. I am devoted to helping the Mideast, and will represent the values of the Regional Protection Party.

Thank you very much, Governor Inks. I will work hard in the Assembly, and will help keep the Mideast as the best region in Atlasia.

I'd just like to point out that it's not illegal to cast more than 5 votes - it's just utterly pointless.

Again - my ruling stands unless an official lawsuit is filed, in which case I will then appoint a Superior Court Justice.

For the record, I strongly endorse appointing Peter to hear this case. I believe he's the only one with both the legal acumen, knowledge of Mideast history, and reputation for impartiality to hear this case.
And also, because he's a liberal who voted for you and has a consistant liberal voting record.

My comment was directed at Badger, and meant in no way to "disrespect" Peter. Peter is a good man, full of integrity. I was just pointing out, almost in a joking way, that another reason Badger probably liked him is because they were close politically. Some of you forget this is a game, and blow little comments way out of proportion.

I'm not being a partisan hack. Actually, I'd personally prefer a moderate take the role in this case.

Badger, quit trying to act like you've been on Atlasia forever, because you've been here less than me. My comments were 100% true. Peter is liberal. There's nothing disrespectful about pointing that out.

This just proves one of the things that has been bugging me about Atlasia. People forget that it's just a game, and get way too defensive.

Peter is one of the first guys you'd want if it went politically, actually. Wink He's close to you on politics, and he preferenced you first in the Assembly.
Once again, I never questioned Peter's integrity at all, and it kind of ticks me off how you guys jump on me for doing that, when I made no post referring to that. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I still think one of your motives for supporting Peter for this is because he's a liberal. Actually, since you are, I believe what you'd call a petitioner, you probably aren't in the best position anyways to be making suggestions for who to serve on this.

lol, This is being blown way out of proportion.
Badger, I never said it wasn't because of Peter's integrity and fairness. I merely stated that another reason possibly could be that he's liberal too. It was a light statement; a statement I wasn't trying to start a big arguement over. Political position always cloud rulings. Do you think a judge who was pro-life and believed abortion should be banned would make a pro-choice ruling? Probably not. Same goes here. Despite what may be, this has become a partisan issue, with conservatives taking one side, and liberals taking other. I think a large reason that this has become an issue is that if it is overturned, a center-left candidate would be put in the Assembly over a right candidate. The partisan difference there begs for a centrist voice.
Purple State, by the two of you making such a big deal about such a little statement shows to me, and probably many others, that you take this game way too seriously. All I said was a moderate would be better for this position. As to who? I think Franzl or Afleitch would do an excellent job. Brandon H and John Dibble would also do well. All are moderate choices.

Mr. Governor:

Understanding that appointing a replacement to the Assembly is your prerogative, there is at least one current vacancy in the Assembly, and possibly one or two more depending on the election this weekend and whether Giovanni ever resurfaces. With that in mind may I suggest appointing BenConstine to the Assembly? He certainly has the experience within this region. His support in the last election was impressive and broad-based, falling just short of being elected.

As a final note from our recent litigation, I PM'd Al right after Peter's decision and it turns out Al did intend for the "George Orwell" first pref to be passed over and transfer to me after all. Just as it was in September's election which apparently led him to believe the vote would be similarly counted this time. This, of course, would've resulted in Ben's election. Unfortunately, Peter--as smart as he is and still holding my support for CJO--was incorrect in determining a lack of intent in Al's vote. Al also should've been legally able to recast his vote in light of Peter's ruling based on his reasonable expectation his vote would be counted the same way as in September, but the seven day statute of limitations for challenging the certification passed the day before Peter's verdict and my discovery from Al.

While I accept the ruling, the point is the will of the electorate was to elect Ben, and it was a misinterpretation by yourself in counting Al's vote in September's election led to his ballot being similarly miscast last month, and thus directly resulted in Ben's defeat by error.

Hey, by appointing him it's the best of both worlds where OfficePark and Ben both win! :-)
Seriously though, with the sudden looming vacancypolooza, the Assembly could greatly use an experienced moderate person with tangable public support to help guide it in the coming session.

Please seriously consider it.
If we're talking about the will of the electorate, then a conservative should be filling Big Bad Fab's place, since he was a conservative.
