Statement

Because I am now governor, I can no longer be your justice on the Supreme Court. A vacancy has been created and it is my constitutional duty to appoint a replacement.

I hope to make an appointment as soon as possible - I will be reaching out to several qualified individuals. Additionally, if you have an interest in serving or have a recommendation, you are encouraged to let me know.

Executive Order #1

Since taking office , I have learned that the Governor's office has been flooded with complaints regarding the raccoon infestation that has been plaguing the region for months. Unfortunately former Governor Fairboi did not address this issue.

Recently, we have received reports of raccoons attempting to overtake regional hospitals and several community colleges. Southern raccoons operate 24/7, they are not nocturnal. Several confirmed rabies cases have been reported and they have recently been hunting our children for sport in local parks. We do not support violence against raccoons - our goal is peaceful cohabitation and we will work with raccoon leaders to achieve this.

At this point, no casualties have been reported, but the key is to raise awareness.

Click here to learn about raccoon prevention techniques

Click here to learn about the rabies vaccine

As Governor, I hereby designate July 27th of each year as Raccoon Awareness Day. We are working with local leaders to set up community forums to provide resources to our citizens.

We are discussing potential legislative action to be taken. As your Governor, I am committed to getting the raccoon problem in this region under control.

I hereby appoint JBRASE of Peace Party to serve the remainder of HCP's term as a delegate. JBrase is immensely qualified and a Southern patriot. He stepped up to lead the Southern Constitutional Taskforce and is doing a great job so far. I have no doubt that he will be a thoughtful and active member of the Chamber.

Statement from Governor Tmthforu94

Good afternoon,

It has been reported that schools in Mississippi and across the South are attempting to rewrite their curriculum at the last-second to omit teachings of the Civil War in the classroom. I respect and sympathize for the frustration that many in our region have in regards to race relations across our country, and I can assure that the Southern government is committed to working for ALL citizens.

With that being said, removing Civil War from our historical curriculum is the wrong step to take. Marcus Garvey once said that, "a people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots." The Civil War is an important aspect of our Southern history - even if we attempt to erase it from our historical curriculum, it will always be part of our history and something that we must learn from as we move forward as a society.

In response to this, the executive branch is currently working quickly to draft legislation that will require the Civil War to be taught in all public schools as part of our Southern Regional History curriculum, as well as be included in all history standardized testing. We will work very diligently with the legislature to get this passed and enacted as soon as possible. Our office just learned of this today, reports from the liberal media that we have been unavailable to comment is fake news and I can assure you that we will act quickly on this issue.

Statement from Governor Tmthforu94

I have introduced legislation to include Civil War history in the Southern curriculum. I have also introduced a bill addressing the regional name change, taking suggestions made by the Southern Constitutional Taskforce. I urge the Speaker/Deputy Speaker to take up both bills immediately as they are pressing issues in the region.

I ask the Speaker to move this to the front of the queue and introduce immediately:

Statement from Governor Tmthforu94

Good Afternoon – our administration has been working very hard since taking office several weeks ago to resolve the raccoon crisis facing our country. Governor Fairboi was a weak leader on this issue and nearly gave in to the raccoon demands. However, we have shown strong, tough leadership the last few weeks in meetings with raccoon leaders. We made it clear that their antics will not be tolerated, and after a recent summit this past weekend in Georgia, they have agreed to back off and return to peaceful cohabitation. Despite earlier rumors spread by the liberal media, we will not be ceding the state of Kentucky to them.

Our parks and hospitals are safer and our region is stronger. Our administration will continue to tackle issues facing our region head-on and find solutions to help make the South greater than ever before. Governor TM is on YOUR side.

Where is Delegate Ben Kenobi? He said he was taking a partial LOA and wouldn't be fully active again until the 15th, but it is now the 21st! BK hasn't even logged onto the forum since August 4th.

Governor TM is working to get to the bottom of this. A delegate is removed if they miss final votes on four consecutive bills.

I don't know why you are still trying to target me, it isn't part of my job to PM delegates telling them to do their job. It isn't like you to disappear like this, I hope everything works out with you IRL. We have a lot of bills that need to be discussed this session, hopefully time can be spent on that instead of you trying to blame others for your spurt of inactivity.

Statement

My office has been swarmed with calls from citizens concerned about the Flood Insurance Reform Act. I will be traveling back from Nyman, where I have been the past two days, and will be having a townhall with constituents on Friday in Pearland, Texas, and on Sunday in Clearwater, Florida. The purpose of this townhall will be to help inform constituents on this bill and hear their opinions/concerns. Should the need arise, I will be back in Nyman next week to work with members of Congress on finding viable solutions.

OMG

You always have to have the last word, don't you BK? This is getting repetitive and silly, I'm incredibly annoyed with you right now. Take some responsibility instead of trying to blame others for your disappearance. Maybe after 18 DAYS of getting no PMs you should have thought,"Hmm, maybe I should check the forum and see what is going on?" Never in my time in this game have I seen someone disappear for so long and try to put the blame on others for their own inactivity. It is not my job to babysit you, nor is it TimTurner or Spark's. Sad!!!

Statement from Governor Tmthforu94

Governor TM is working very hard to make life better for all Atlasians. He supports Delegate BK's bill to eliminate income tax in the region which will provide a BIG relief to everyone's paychecks.

Our region is operating in a big surplus and in addition to tax cuts, there are other steps we need to take to improve the quality of life. Very soon TM will be releasing a big infrastructure bill to fix our decaying roads and bridges. This will create THOUSANDS of new jobs in response to a GM report showing our unemployment rate as the highest in the region. Any delegate interested in helping TM write this bill should PM him.

Governor Fairboi's budget proves that he had no clue what he was doing, I think we need to revisit it and amend. I couldn't find a budget from 2017, but based on budget, there were a couple of alarming changes.
- Transportation funding got cut by $18 billion
- "Other/Discretionary funds" got INCREASED by $33 billion. What even is that, money for him to launder???
- Cuts to pension and healthcare

Statement from Governor TM

Lines were out the door at our townhall in Pearland yesterday regarding the Flood Insurance Reform Act. We have another townhall tomorrow in Florida. The message was clear - The People want real reform to the flood insurance. Based on feedback, I introduced another amendment today that will greatly improve the NFIP. Business leaders are very happy with Governor TM for already successfully removing businesses from these restrictions. I will continue working hard for my constituents.

All bills passed under my administration, as well as for Acting Governor TheSaint and disgraced former Governor Fairboi, have been added to the Wiki.

Regarding the 10th session from January - April, this will take quite a while to update as it appears there was no noticeboard and the Governor did not sign bills in this official thread, so I will have to comb through every individual bill for those months.

Though results have not been certified, it looks like Young Texan has won a seat to the House of Representatives. Congratulations to him and everyone else who was elected!

Because of this, we will soon have an opening in the Chamber of Delegates. Please PM me if you are interested in the position, I'd like to have it filled as soon as YT resigns.
