Questions Surround Candidate's Ballot
If things are what they seem, Mideast resident and candidate for Assembly CrabCake (Lab-MO) may be guilt of violating federal election law, the Mideast Record-Courier discovered yesterday. While Federal law prohibits the editing of one's vote more than twenty (20) minutes after it is cast, the Record-Courier confirmed that after posting his vote at 11:53:23 AM yesterday, CrabCake edited his ballot over 4 hours later at 4:39:19 PM. While CrabCake's preferences for governor and Assembly have not changed, and the Record-Courier was unable to confirm whether any changes had been made to his vote on the Federal Recall Amendment, this is nevertheless a serious offense on the part of Mr. CrabCake, which could result in the invalidation of his vote.
(Editor's Note: I do not publish this article out of any personal or political malice towards Mr. CrabCake, whose conduct as a candidate has otherwise been exemplary, and would readily accept a satisfactory explanation on his part.)
Regardless of whether changes are made, if a ballot is edited 20 minutes after it is submitted, it is invalid. Unfortunately this means that CrabCake's ballot will not be counted.

I think that picture is an accurate depiction on your opinion of me. Tongue I think this is the third appearance it has made.

I regret that I contributed to the race getting too negative - ZuWo is a friend and I wouldn't take a swipe like that against him in the interview. Please quit trying to read too deeply into what I said. While my tenure after the race was probably my proudest accomplishment, the race itself was one of my unhappiest moments - I wish it had gone differently.

I shouldn't have mentioned the PM, solely because I should have known that people would ask me to post it publicly, which I will not do. It came from a good guy who got caught up in the drama - I'm not going to let one of my last acts in Atlasia be helping sink someone's career.

Hopefully that clears the air. Take care, everyone! Thank you to Harry Truman for the interview - you are an excellent Atlasian journalist who has a bright future ahead!

Fortunately, no one in this thread has asked that you post any private messages publicly.

It came from a good guy who got caught up in the drama - I'm not going to let one of my last acts in Atlasia be helping sink someone's career.

It's not fair to anyone involved to claim that you've been receiving threats - and I'll note that this allegation has somehow has evolved from the plural ("threatening personal messages") in your "final" interview to the singular ("PM") in your response - if you're not willing to take those threats to the moderators. It needlessly casts a pall over the game and makes everyone else feel unsafe.

It's good to hear that the threat wasn't serious - presumably you wouldn't be describing whoever has been menacing you as a "good guy" if it were - but no, clearly you should not have brought it up.
You're right, as usual. Thank you for pointing all of this out, Nix!

Definitely one of the most surprising results we have had in a while - the polls were way off. Pleased to see a special election getting such high turnout! Smiley
