The race that's important is the race for Superintendent of Public Instruction, where Democratic challenger Glenda Ritz has pulled to within 4 of incumbent Tony Bennett. Let's do this!!!

Terrific news! I love that the fake moderate posters in Indiana will be represented by an "evil" Democrat.
You really need to educate yourself.

Becca's right. You can't vote for Mourdock and call yourself a moderate, period.
Roll Eyes As usual with Becca's posts, there are several inaccuracies. I don't label myself as a moderate - while I have moderate issues, which puts me to the left of many in the Republican Party and would probably get me labeled a RINO, the issues that are most important to be (Debt, Role of Government), I am very conservative, and I do agree with Mourdock much more than Donnelly on those issues.

Now, I absolutely detest Mourdock, and I always have, but he had somewhat moderated his rhetoric during the campaign, and when I voted, I decided to vote for him because I agree with him on my most important issues and I also would like for Republicans to take a Senate majority. This vote was made before the abortion comments - had I known he would say something this idiotic, I would have voted for Horning or not voted at all. Now, especially due to the fact that Republicans won't take the Senate regardless, I'm supporting Donnelly, as I think he has Indiana's interests at heart, even though I have major disagreements with him. Another inaccuracy, which is what I was pointing out with my original post, is her implying that I think Donnelly is an "evil" Democrat. I don't - I've always thought he is a good guy, and if we were represented by a Democrat, he'd be one of my top choices. If she actually knew my thoughts and feelings on this entire race that I have expressed before, she would have known that.

You can't use the "I voted before the comment" excuse when you still support him and Todd Akin.
...the flaw with this argument is that I don't still support Mourdock.

The irony here is that Democrats are all rushing to Donnelly's side on this, yet Donnelly is also a very pro-life candidate. At least in Missouri, there was a stark contrast between the two candidates on abortion.

Maybe Donnelly is a Blue Dog pro-life moron, but I doubt he's a misogynistic creep.
That's why^^^

As the Hoosier on here, the best delegation (while also actually being realistic) would be Stutzman and Lugar. Tongue However, say Lugar retired, I would throw Skillman in there. And should I be forced to take a Democrat, it'd be Ellsworth for certain.

So either:
Stutzman and Lugar
Stutzman and Skilmman
Ellsworth and Skillman

So many great options, and we're going to be stuck with Donnelly and Coats for at least four years. Lovely.

Well, Skillman was originally going to run for Governor, but got pushed out when Pence wanted to run. The plan was for Lugar to retire midway through his term, and Pence had promised to give Skillman the seat.

Should Lugar have retired, I'm pretty confident Skillman would have let Pence take the Governorship and she would have ran for Senate. She's a good team player.

Do you think Pence would try for this seat in 2018 against Donnelly? If his numbers are high, he would be the obvious choice and the one most likely to be able to beat him.
I think he may decide to stay as Governor and potentially run for President in 2020 - it all depends on wins this Presidential election, as well as 2016.

We have a ton of candidates who will be eying Coats seat in 2016 (I don't think he'll run for reelection), as well as Donnelly. To name a few: Stutzman, Rodkita, Young, Walorski, Skillman, Ellsperman, Zoehller, and Bosma.

My only concern is that he not become entrenched like Bayh did.
It may actually be in Donnelly's better interests for Romney to win. That way, he can work with him on a couple issues, then in 2018, tout that bi-partisanship. If Obama's elected, he'll likely continue to support Obama's agenda, and considering how unpopular Obama is in Indiana, that'll drag him down if he's faced with a serious, competent opponent.
