Maybe, I'm just confused (probably the case), but shouldn't the wording be something like:

Also, I agree that the punishments are way too harsh. Let's keep in mind, the people most likely to commit this act are newbies who probably won't even know it's illegal to delete their vote.

Also, should deleting your vote while the vote is still ongoing be an offense? It's just invalidating your vote, similar to what editing your vote late does.
