Was ECR actually a valid voter? I didn't think he had enough posts, regardless of the ban.

He made tons of posts in February after his "return". I double checked him.

He had 23 posts in the past 2 months. I thought 25 was the requirement.

I know it doesn't change the results, I'm just picky about this sort of thing! Wink

I don't know if this has occurred to anyone yet: we now will need to hold a special election to replace Dallasfan in the Senate.

...the Northeast Senate? You mean I could run again?! Cheesy Oh goodie, I just love campaigning Cheesy
At-Large Senate seat. It will open up on March 4th, the day Dallasfan and I swear in (and also my birthday, as well as Clay's)

Okay everyone, here's the ballot I've put together. I plan on opening the vote tonight around 4:00 EDT. So approx. 4 and a half hours. If there's any objections to that, please let me know now, and I can try and work with everyone.

If you see anything wrong with this ballot, please let me know ASAP. I really don't want a court case over getting something wrong. Tongue

Sure, I can hold off. I suppose I'll open it at midnight then, tonight. You all have 8 more hours for last minute campaigning. Tongue

If Belgiansocialist was going to run for every Senate seat, couldn't he have chosen a shorter display name? That ballot looks cumbersome.
I was going to pm him, asking him to consider shortening it, but got sidetracked. Belgian, if you're reading this, it would be appreciated if you could shorten your username, but not required. Smiley

How do you determine ballot order?
Sorry, didn't see this earlier. I tried going off of which declared first, though I may have messed up the order on the Northeast. If you see anything wrong, let me know in the next 7 minutes. Smiley

I won't be available for certification after the election ends later.

I hope that the President or some other member of the administration will be able to handle it. Shouldn't be much of a problem, though, as the non-STV elections don't involve any complicated calculations.
Okay.
Likely tomorrow morning, I'll attempt to begin certifying. I'll likely go through each race, and hopefully I can get some help to avoid any race being wrongfully certified.

Here's the situation:

I'm more than willing to count and certify the election results. I think the results are fairly obvious, and if anyone thinks I'd try to rig them or anything, they're wrong. Polnut is President-elect, Napoleon, Bgwah, Fuzzy, Myself, and Yank won the Senate races.

However, if you all hate me so much you don't want me certifying them, I guess we can wait in limbo for Franzl to return.

Your call.

While you did try to rig the election, the results are in and we all know who won so I don't see a point in not certifying them.
Asking people to change their votes within the 20 minutes is not rigging an election, but okay.

Meh, all this really means is "Since I won, go ahead and certify them. If I hadn't won, I'd be suing you right now."

Not at all. I still plan to sue Tmthforu. All this means is that I don't intend to hold up the certification of unaffected results.
I thought it'd make more sense for Jake Matthews to sue me, after all, he's the "victim" here. If he doesn't want me to be prosecuted, I think that's mainly his decision. We'll see, I guess. I'll likely be punished anyways for campaigning as an election official - I've accepted that.

He is a victim, but not the victim. He is a victim by virtue of your use of him as a tool to attack your victim, me, the candidate you sought to sink.
Yeah, considering this is all about "voter intimidation", and considering Jake Matthews is the voter who was "intimidated", I'm pretty sure he'd be considered the victim. So quit trying to make this all about yourself.

You're not the smartest guy around, are you? Somehow, by calling Jake a victim, I am making this ALL ABOUT MYSELF!!!!!!!!!  Did you seek to have Jake invalidate his ballot solely to deprive him of a vote or did you do it to try and ensure my loss? The preceding question is rhetorical.
You certainly seem to like personal attacks, now attacking my intelligence. I find it ironic you're the one planning to sue me with intimidation and bullying when you've seemed to have focused an entire weekend on attacking me.

You're making this about yourself by saying you're THE victim and that Jake is just A victim. I'd be interested in hearing an analysis from a legal professional for sure, but I just find it interesting that you're saying that you are the victim of a voter intimidation case when you weren't the one being intimidated.

FTR, I'm not the only person who's urged people to change their votes within the 20 minutes - several people on both sides have a long history of doing so.

I agree with what you said. The problem though, is if someone messes up on their ballot, they wouldn't be able to fix it. Actually, you mentioning all of this game me a possible idea to help ease the problem - reducing the amount of time allowed to edit to 10, or even 5 minutes.

I agree.  You get one vote and one vote only.

Whoever heard of changing your vote after having voted anyway?  That's ridiculous.

You vote, you vote, that's it.

All campaigning comes before votes are cast.  None of this nonsense about trying to persuade someone to change their vote after they have voted, as Tmth has done.
to be fair, this has long been common in Atlasia. I wasn't the first to ask people to change their votes within the 20 minutes.
