I'm glad to see support for this. Smiley This amendment would make certain that voting eligibility problems such as those Everett and jfern encountered won't reoccur in any more elections, and removing one potential source of election controversy, while perhaps being less entertaining, surely is to be desired by Atlasia. I really wish that amendments to things would have the original text listed to make things easier.  For reference, here is what this clause currently says:

"In order to vote or be a canidate in an election, a person must have been a registered voter on the tenth day before that election."

The addition is the following:

"If a voter changes their state of registration in the ten days before the election, the state from which they were originally registered shall be the state from which their vote is cast."

At any rate, I see nothing wrong with this.

Sorry, just trying to keep things simple... Wink

That was actually a comment to MasterJedi.  When I was PPT, and an amendment to something was proposed, I always provided the original text so people could know what was being amended, as some of us do not have the time to memorize every single piece of Atlasian law.

Ah, OK, got it. Smiley

What, you don't have a photographic memory of the three threads involved in the election controversy in the first place? Cheesy

No, sorry, some of us have other things to do. Tongue

Tongue So do I, actually, but given that I was involved in this particular controversy I needed to be the one to fix it. Smiley

What would be a reason for opposing this?

Can't think of any, it's a pretty uncontentious Smiley, straightforward Amendment

'Hawk'

I may not propose a lot of laws, but those I do pass. Wink
