Freedom loving people hate the religious right, WMS. Can you blame them? It is rather like the Jews hating Nazis, isn't it?
And in addition, it's time to define terms again, even though this is probably wasted on you.
Not all Christians are born-again.
Not all born-again Christians are evangelicals.
Not all evangelicals are conservative.
Not all conservative evangelical Christians are right-wing (i.e., the religious right').
And there are differences in degree and kind among even the religious right.
I swear, there is nothing more hypocritical than the self-proclaimed 'tolerant progressive left' and their attitude toward religious folk...or Southerners...or rural dwellers...etc.
