Wow, looking over Canadian politics over the last several decades, I'm inclined to conclude that their party structure is fairly similar to that of Atlasia.

But there's no communitarian party. Tongue

And no, I haven't voted yet in the poll becuase none of them fits me that well. Wink

Well, this thread went off on an amusing tangent. Cheesy

Nah, you should see what he thinks about Tammany Hall types Wink

He'd most likely be stuck with being a swing voter from hell. Again Grin

Let's just say I don't like Tammany Hall types. At All. Grin

And Al, that's currently in the running for 'most likely' option. Grin

He has a tendency to dislike seperatists, well, except Somaliland.

Actually I could see him voting NDP in the prairies. In the urban areas, well he wouldn't be too happy...

NOT the BQ. Angry

It depends on what type of separatists they are. Cheesy I backed the East Timor secession for example, and initially backed the Eritreans as well (before they turned into a bunch of totalitarian nuts Roll Eyes ). It depends on why the secession is happening and how everyone involved is acting. Example: Upon de facto independence, Somaliland worked to stabilize its economy and politics, eventually holding multiple rounds of elections with much participation by everyone. Upon de facto independence, Ichkeria (Chechnya) splintered into competing packs of warlords, engaged in massive drug and human trafficking, and tried to invade half of their neighbors. Somaliland = Good. Ichkeria = Bad.

Prairie NDP...maybe. I have been reading what Al and others have said about them, and that's a possibility. Urban NDP...doesn't sound like it. Yes, BRTD, the urban areas of Canada are Not My Friends Politically. Tongue

Yeah. NDP for a major party preference. Maybe the Progressive Canadians if he wanted to go for a minor party.

Depends, as I said above. Kiki Who are the Progressive Canadians? Huh

He'd most likely be stuck with being a swing voter from hell. Again Grin
Yeah, a Conservative-NDP swing voter ... then again, these aren't as uncommon as you might think in Canada ... really, "a swing voter from hell" is just another word for a "Canadian". Grin

Actually, Lewis just took the lead. Conservative-NDP Swing Voter is a real possibility were I a Canadian voter. Smiley And I didn't know Canadian voters were so varied...or so volatile! Grin

Yeah, a Conservative-NDP swing voter ... then again, these aren't as uncommon as you might think in Canada ...

You've just described the largest part of the Saskatchewan electorate Wink

I've worked out what his nightmare riding would be, btw. Vancouver Centre. Hedy Fry (who must come close to being his nightmare Liberal) against Svend Robinson (and whether he's heard of him or not, he is his nightmare Dipper).

Hmm, I should probably visit Saskatchewan at least once. Wink

Hmm, I should probably avoid Vancouver Centre like the plague. Grin

Do you have any good details on those two, Al? Smiley

Did you run into an electric fence, then? Tongue

For a given value of "urban", then. Wink Hmm, the Prairie NDP doesn't sound bad at all. And what did the B.C. NDP do instead - cut governing costs?

Ah, the htmldon party! Cheesy Got it. Might be worth adding to my swing list.

Wheat is OK. Wink Absurdly volatile electorates are fun. Grin

Lots of scandals.

Ahh, that's never good. What were the scandals involving, anyway?

Hedy Fry = far left loony liberal
Svend Robinson = far left slightly less lonny New Democrat

Something to do with a casino and a deck. Gabu or Dean might know

Hmm, they haven't spoken but Al has, so I guess that takes care of that. Cheesy

Not to mention the ridings high homosexual population. Unfortunately, statistics for such a variabe are hard to find, but it would make an interesting map Cheesy
[/quote]

Oh, I don't mind the gay-ness of the district. It's the leftism of it that gets to me. Tongue I have no problems voting for a reasonable homosexual over an unreasonable heterosexual. Reminds me of the Public Regulation Commission 3 race in New Mexico a few years back, where if I had been in that district I would've voted for moderate Democrat (and lesbian) Liz Stefanics versus that corrupt old boy from Northern New Mexico Jerome Block. Same thing for her race in 2000 against another shady northern Dem, Phil Griego in State Senate District 49. She lost both of those, unfortunately, and yes, her lesbianism was used against her by the other Democrat in at least the latter race and probably the former.

And it would make an interesting map. Cheesy

Prairie NDP = Al
Uruban NDP = jfern

to sum it up.

That'll work. Smiley
