If these reports are true, the way I understand them, which is that Barack asked Hillary to come to Chicago, and asked her if she would accept the position of Secretary of State if it was offered to her.
If she said yes, she would accept if offered, then I do not see any way whatsoever that Barack could deny her the position.
Denying her the job after this would be a major political blunder, and a huge slap in the face to Hillary and her supporters.
