Other possibilities for GOP VP in 2000 besides Cheney, Danforth, Ridge, Dole

Representative John Kasich of Ohio
Governor Frank Keating of Oklahoma
Senator Fred Thompson of Tennessee
Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska

Remember, this was well before Thompson made his disastrous run for President in 2008.

Senator John McCain of Arizona and General Colin Powell of New York, who were also mentioned as possibilities, disavowed any interest in the VP nomination.
