I encourage citizens to participate in the debate over the July-October budget resolution which has just been introduced, and contribute ideas as to how we can best utilize a portion of the $5 billion in spending to combat homelessness apportioned by the federal government.

cinyc's name should appear as candidate on the special election ballot. He declared on January 18th.


Also the ballot says the election is for one seat. The Governor announced in his thread the special election would be to fill the two vacated seats.

This is absolutely correct.

Why did cinyc's name not appear on the ballot as a declared candidate?  We all know, generally, declared candidates whose names appear on the ballot do better than write-in candidates.

This is certainly a grave injustice to cinyc.  Perhaps this balloting should be redone.

Article II Section 5 of the Northeast Constitution

Candidates for Legislative Assembly will be given until the Wednesday preceding the first date of polling in the election they wish to contest to announce their candidacy and appear on the ballot. This is to be done by officially declaring his or her's candidacy in the Candidate Declaration Thread.
