The way I see it, the objective of our embassies is to carry on diplomatic relations and the display of anything that could get in the way of that objective, seems to be at cross purposes with the effective carrying out of our foreign policy. Granted we my desire a certain outcome to be universal or widely accepted and there may be opportunities for the promotion of such to occur through the implementation of foreign policy but in any case, I don't see the benefit for the embassies doing so in this fashion. I have long favored a more restrained approach to the conduct of foreign policy.
