However, if you were to remove federal inducements towards lower speed limits (they use the same leverage as this bill does) I would probably be inclined to support that.

I would also be up for rising the limits on some highways though that gets back to my post a few months back on the structure of the highway system and the passing through the hearts of urban centers as opposed to bypassing such and relying on exchanges with various access roads, mass transit etc to enter a given city. This would facilitate higher speeds on the highways then are presently possible, owing in large part to congestion.
