Situational ethics and situational everything is the governing operating plan for politicians that is a given.
Case in point, Republicans caring about the deficit, the debt, state's rights, local control, separation of powers, executive overreach, gerrymandering, the constitution and the rule of law until they are in power.
Principle is often secondary to power and money, in terms of how to keep it and how to steal it from the other side.
