I have never seen the city results before, very fascinating and thanks for your efforts on this.

Lincoln doing so well in Boston and winning St. Louis owes a lot to him opposing the more nativist impulses in the Republican Party and his ability to balance appeals to both business interests and of course working class voters. Later Republicans very quickly would forget all of this.

Interesting Bell got second in Boston. I guess part of it was the favorite son effect for Everett but also Boston having been a Whig stronghold previously.

All the rich Whig elites and New England Aristocrats.
