It always struck me that for a short time, and at the height of the Watergate Scandal, America had only one living President, the sitting President Nixon. This was a combination of FDR's long time in office, JFK's assassination, and LBJ's and Ike's poor health. The only other time this seemed to have happened was when John Adams was President, and Washington died in 1799.
Ike died in 69, Truman in 72 and LBJ in 73. And of course JFK died in 1963.
It happened in 1933.
Only for about two months. For some reason I thought Coolidge died later in the year.
The other gaps were much longer. In Nixon's case, it would have been almost 4 years were it not for Watergate.
