Good Evening/Morning Federalists,

Words cannot express how joyfull I am to be opening our October Convention here in McKinney, Texas. This is our ninth regular convention and our tenth convention overall, and it gives me the greatest of satisfaction knowing that I am opening our second convention after there was suppose to be no more such gatherings of our Party. Six months ago, our obituaries were being forcefully shoved down our throats by our bitter enemies. Six month later most of them are gone and we once again stand victories in region after region and office after office. We should celebrate and triumph in our success, in our determination to survive and succeed, because it is what has driven us back from the brink of despair and destruction.

However, we must also remember that with this comes a responsibility, we exist in a game that has by far seen much better days and we must strive to not just exist within, but lead and drive the game forward. We have done this in so many ways. The bulk of our officeholders are new people and in conjunction with distinguished allies in other Parties, helped to lead the movement for a Constitutional Convention. We have important work to do that in convention obviously, and we must remember what our primary focus is during this Party convention. We must select a ticket that will help lead and unify Atlasia around a new Constitution. We must endorse promote a slate of strong and principled candidates who will lead in Nyman and out in the regions. Finally we must decide what our party stands for, we must decide how our Party can and should operate. Above all we must remember that only through a collaborative effort can the right succeed not just in one offs but continuouly, establishing a true allignment of competativess and competence.

I look forward to leading you in this effort.

Thanks and Dave Bless!!!

For a long time I had no desire to lead this party, because for the longest time it never really felt like my party. I always felt like I had been robbed of my party and this one had been created by a merger that I had opposed. It was the state of the game that motivated me to start taking an interest in party leadership once again and it was the need to oppose Labor and its legislative excesses that motivated me to stand for Chair after the unexpected resignation of then Chairman Tmthforu94 in February 2014.

Since then we have been through quite a ride. We have seen the party go to hell and back and we have watched as some of our trusted friends and allies walked out the door for good. It was not a pleasant experience to say the least. At the same time we have seen old allies return and many, many new faces step up to the plate and provide the necessary leadership and skills. We don't always agree on everything, as the most recent election showed, but we do mostly share a common bond and that is that we have endured the worst crisis to face a Party, and pulled through. We have demonstrated that Conservatism is viable in this game. Yes, we lack candidates and we have not been immune to the problems effecting Atlasia, but the former is not an indictment. We have plenty of officeholders and many new ones who are ineligible to seek certain offices, that is something that no other party can claim. No other party can claim the level of organization we still possess and yes, can unite around people who don't have years and years worth opposition weighing them down.

That said we should acknowledge that we can improve. Our officeholders need to committ themselves to being active and engaged participants, mindful of their responsibilities and dilligent in their focus on meething those obligations. We need to be striving for a reform of the game not based on some arbitrary goals or relative based comparisons, but based on what will work and what will best restore the game. We also have to stand for something. We need to push for our free market and pro-regional values to be implemented where possible. Finally, and certainly important is the critical for integrity and honesty in the pursuit of these objectives.

I am a working man, I often work between 32 and 40 hours a week (more so 40 than 32 lately). It is draining and their are some days I cannot get on. I cannot partake in every conversation, nor follow the latest comments in IRC or wherever. However, I can endure catastrophes, I can bring experience and previously established relationships, as well as a natrual ability in some circusmtances to instinctly make the proper or appropriate decision. On my own, this party will fail, that has been proven before. However, as a team working and collaborating, we cannot fail. I would be happy to continue to lead that team for another four months.

I declare for the position of Federalist Party Chairman.

Yea, you can sign in. Really, the signing in phase is just a formality, meant to make members aware that the convention has commenced.

Just over 24 hours to enter any remaining declarations. Smiley

Since my return to involvement in party affairs earlier this year, we've come a long way. More people have gotten involved and we've managed to maintain our numbers and add good new members to the Federalist Party in a time when Atlasia as a whole has contracted.

I don't have that much to say, but I am declaring for another term as Federalist Party Vice-Chairman.

Striking out? Well count me in
I'm gonna stand by your side through thick and thin

Ain't no doubt, I'm gonna win
I've walked through hell and back compared to where we've been

According to the bylaws, if I read them correctly, a party member can move to endorse a non-Federalist. I will double check.

Dear friends,

I come to you at a time of both great crisis and opportunity in Atlasia. I firmly believe that this election will serve as the deciding factor as to the longevity and revitalization of this game. While the ConCon goes about its work, we must ensure that our officeholders are active and keeping a watchful eye on developments. This choice transcends partisan affiliation, and we must all align ourselves to lead an active and productive way forward.

I would respectfully like to ask for your endorsement at the forthcoming Mideast Senate election.

I do believe that I have been left off the ballot.

Sorry about that, because it was before my post starting the process I didn't notice it when I went back through the posts.

The rules are "if numbers permit", the party may endorse non-Federalists endorsements. Since JCL is now in the race, he is automatically endorsed as a candidate as Barnes is being nominated for non-Federalists endorsment, he would be endorsed for second-preference.

December 2015

In order to prevent a three seat leftwing sweep after the August 2013 elections, a change was made to the bylaws to limit the number of candidates that the Federalists could endorse in an At-Large election to two.

However, incumbents are exempted from this provision and are allowed to recieve the nomination even if there be three in number. That being said the bylaws require that said candidates declare prior to the first Friday before the election and anyone who declares afterwards will be denied the nomination.

The following Federalist candidates have been endorsed for At-Large Senate:
Altsomn J. Stmarken (JoMCar) (F-ME)
North Carolina Yankee (F-NC)

You know on the sixth, I never conceived of the idea that there would not be a second Laborite candidate, nor that a third Federalist would find an opportunity to run and win. Clearly if distinguished rising Federalists have to abandon their affiliation to run in an election something needs to be changed.

Needless to say, it is time to scrap the provision in my previous post. The so called Xahar rule was passed to keep the radicalized pro-rimjob Laborites from securing a perpetual majority in the Senate, after they elected Xahar as basically a third Laborite Senator in August 2013 and then followed that up by electing three Laborites in October. The provision worked, as the right won 3/5 At-Large Senate seats in every At-Large election until December 2014, preserving a 5-5 split in the Senate.

However times have changed and chances are this is going to be the last At-Large "Senate" election. In a new, nine member At-Large House the need for such a provision would be pointless. A mere six votes or seven votes would gain one election to the house with the turnout we just had, but at the same time the shear number of seats reduces the damage of electing one radical.
