Atlas really is like Hotel California, isn't it?

They stab it with their steely knives but they just can't kill the beast...

that is their attachment to this place.

North Carolina Yankee has made it into the top 10, bumping Eraserhead off the list:

1) BRTD 86,527
2) Al 62,463
3) Lewis 58,282
4) Kal 53,288
5) Phil 52,697
6) Antonio 49,992
7) Tender 49,266
8 ) opebo 47,076
9) jfern 45,786
10) North Carolina Yankee 42,452

11) Eraserhead 42,425

I passed him at exactly 42,420 to 42,419, leading me to remark on discord that I 420 blazed E-head out of the top ten.

olawakandi is been on quite a tear recently, making over 800 posts in the last month(!).  If he were to keep up this posting rate indefinitely, then he'd end up hitting the top 10 in about two years' time, knocking out opebo from the top 10 in the process.

The pedophile is still in the top 10?

He is in 8th place with 47,076 posts.

A while ago, I remember you saying that there wasn't a likely path to knocking Opebo out of top ten, hilariously it seems that olawakandi has created such a path. I take issue with some of what he has posted, but if it knocks Opebo off that list...

Opedo is still in the top ten? Geez louise.
unless there is a huge purge of old posts, he's going to be there forever.

Unless the forum is shut down for some reason, I don't see how opebo will still be in the top 10 five years from now.  Potentially, he could be out within three years.  At the rate jfern's going, he's very likely going to bump opebo down to 9th place this year.  And then, you need to two more posters to knock him down to 11th place, but that'll eventually happen with enough time.  Might be North Carolina Yankee and me, or maybe North Carolina Yankee and IceSpear, or something like that, though it would be years away.  IceSpear's impossible to predict long term, because he alternates between posting like 1000 posts a month and not posting at all.  Maybe if he's especially active in this presidential campaign cycle, he could get within striking distance of the top 10.

And actually, if you were to keep posting at your current posting rate indefinitely, you'd end up catching up to opebo's current tally in about 5 years too.  Tongue

This the post I was remembering.

Who was opebo and why is knocking him off the list a big goal?

I think the Atlasia election lead to a surge in Yankee's posting.

Coming out of the Covid slump left me with a pent up urge to voice my thoughts and opinions more. Plus if the Senate actually debate and legislated as it did in say 2014, the Presiding officer would necessarily be making 10 to 20 posts per day just off the Senate alone.

Now that olawakandi has made it into the top 10, the order of people in the top 10 will be changing a lot (with, among other things, olawakandi moving rapidly up the list), but I don't see anyone new entering the top 10 for a long time.  My hunch is that by 2023, Keystone Phil will have fallen to the #10 spot (as those immediately below him are likely to pass him by then), and then someone will probably pass him for #10 some time that year.

No idea who will do that.  At one point I would have been on pace to catch up to him by then, but I've slowed way down.  With 10,000 posts to go for me to catch up to Phil, I highly doubt I'll get there in 2-3 years.  I guess a dark horse to reach the top 10 in 2023 would be Badger, who's only at about 30,000 posts right now but, according to the stats page, has made 895 posts in the last 30 days(!).  If he actually kept that up for two years (not that I think he's likely to), then he'd easily be in the 50,000 post range when 2023 begins.

Obviously the answer here is to start posting much more frequently, putting important life events on hold to do so, if necessary.

More posts by Mr. Morden should be a statutory requirement.

Looks like Mr. Morden left the forum for a spell. Hasn't posted in months.
