Is it practical for the Senate to empanel ah a panel within 48 hours?
Considering it will be made up of Senators... it shouldn't be that difficult.
Are you selecting them by drawing names from a hat? Otherwise, it seems rather impractical. Standard declaration time for interest for any selection of Senators is 48 hours? Then if there is need for a vote... Of course the vote could potentially be over quickly, but usually it carries a maximum that extends for more then a day.
Plus several Senators are going on leave over the next two weeks, myself included (If I could avoid it, I would but as this fall proved, my head did not come equiped with built in wifi).
