I haven't drank soda since May 19th, 2012. The trick is substitution. To find something that has a similar taste, minus of course the carbonation and its taste effect and to use that instead. I used to drink Fanta as a recreational drink, while I would have a regular Pepsi or Coke in a small cup with a dinner or lunch. However, my main base drink has been lemonade for breakfast and the rest of the day a combination of unsweetened ice tea and lemonade the rest of the day for several years now, with the occassional cherry kool-aide in the summer and a vanilla milkshake every few weeks. I don't drink alcohol (though the bottom two boards make me regret that at times
). Most of the soda was with snacks, parties or what not. The regular stuff was easy to cut out since it was a secondary drink anyway. The Fanta was the hard one, but fortunately, I found an orange drink with a somewhat similar taste to use instead for those purposes.
So did anyone here overcome a pop or " soda" problem?
I gave it up for a year for a $125 bet. I could do it again, but I have no desire to (it's annoying not to NEVER be able to drink it, especially at parties/events), but since then, I don't drink it nearly as much as I used to.
I have wondered how this panned out for you.
