You know when you offer an amendment then proceed to change it two or three times, you kind of are telling me the equivalent of telling a dog to sit and come here at the same time. If you are deliberating texts with a working draft that changes based on the discussion, refrain from using the word "amendment" until you are finished. Tongue Otherwise I have to treat them all as individual amendments. Tongue

Your phrasing is fine since you used the word "would" in ahead of the word "amendment". Technicalities! Tongue

Was asked to offer this text as an amendment by non-constituent Atlasian citizen and officeholder. Since I am in a generous mood I will post it for review, eventhough the person who requested it was not a resident of the IDS.

I am not offering it at this time.

Don Henley has a song called "You Can't Make Love". In this case, it should be "You Can't Fake Activity"

Of course he also has a song called "You're Not Drinking Enough", which fit just fine as is in situations like these, sbane. Wink

I don't know. In fact I am not even sure whether or not anything happens at the end of 24 hours except for activity being locked in place as it was when it expired. Actual passage may not occur untill I declare it having ended. There has never been an instance where clarifying such was necessary. I shouldn't have put two amendments so similar with regards to what is being changed up for consideration at the same time.

My inclination here is to hold a vote on one or both amendments so that all are pleased with the outcome and feel reasonably satisfied with the legitimacy of the text after this is resolved.

Is this acceptable to both amendment sponsors?

Except that his newly offered amendment is not the same as the one which he offered previously.

Without further clarification as to Seatown's intent, I would prefer not to move forward.

I think an updated current text is in order before proceeding. Sadly, I may not have a chance to get to that tonight, so if someone else loves pain and wants to do it before tomorrow, go right ahead. Tongue

In cases like this, we should let the post self-ridicule, and abstain from further posts to let the hilarity sink in.

This is the Senate, a functioning body, not some stupid Forum Community or 2012 Board post. Engaging in playground bullsh**t such as that will hamper debate on a bill that has already suffered from enough delay. Just ignore the stupidity and keep going as if it didn't happen.
