If this bill leads to more free trade then I'm all for it.

Don't we already have free trade agreements with many of these countries anyway?  Would there current ones be revoked?

     No, they wouldn't.

No debate on this in awhile, I motion for cloture.

The predisposition towards cloture votes in this Senate is interesting. In this case, for example, no cloture motion was necessary as the bill was more than 72 hours on the floor and hadn't been debated in over 24 hours, so a final vote could simply have been called.

Yeah, this was useless. I guess it brought attention though as it might have been ignored for a few more days otherwise.

     Aye.

I would also be interested in the President's reasoning for his veto, but I'm sufficiently convinced of the merits of this bill that I can still vote in favor of overriding his veto at this point.

I feel the same way about it.

So do those abstainations effectivly serve as NAY votes?  Thats always been my understanding in veto overrides.

Yes but unless something changed people still have 24 hours to change their votes.

Yes, *cough*please change your vote, SPC*cough*.
