Now that I have deleted half of the posts in this thread, leaving only one small branch of the derailing exchange that I found to be surprisingly high in quality intact, we can get back to the actual topic at hand.
To address the topic, this reminds me of Joe Scarborough leaving the GOP, or Ben Sasse talking about how he has thought about leaving. It is certainly not encouraging, but absent any indication that the individual intends to support Democratic causes the impact of such a change is decidedly muted.
