I am proud to be fhtagn’s running mate, because I am confident that she has the work ethic and talent to make our current apparatus of government a successful one. There have been issues with this system, and with those issues there are different ideas about what to do with it.

In the short time I have been Vice President so far I have been sufficiently impressed by the dedication of fhtagn and her Cabinet that I knew I made the right choice in doing so. The trend towards government simulation has come to demand a great deal of work of those in charge. We’ve suffered from inactivity in key posts in the past, and I am running on this ticket because it stands for activity and competence in government.

I believe that there is much good that exists within the GM and from Congress. Having an active GM opens avenues of discussion that otherwise would not be possible and that go well beyond the same well-trodden tracks of the political issues du jour. Having an active Congress allows for more intricate policy discussions that better balance the interests of the regions and of the populace at-large.

When I started in Atlasia, there was a major debate over the role of the regions. Many people in powerful places wanted to reduce the role of the regions, if not abolish them altogether. I fought for years for regions, because I saw the potential they had to play an important role in Atlasian affairs, and I have been vindicated in such. All it took was tweaking the system to make things work. Perhaps Game Moderation needs to be tweaked as well, and that is a possibility that should be discussed. However, I am confident that the path forward does not lie through simply abandoning game mechanics because they require a little effort to implement successfully.

We are running to be more than the typical empty suits. We are running to be the catalyst that taps into the potential that exists within the Republic of Atlasia and therein lead it to new heights. Join us, so that we can realize those heights and see the dawn of a new age for Atlasia.

It is with great sorrow and remorse than I must announce that my activity will be greatly reduced as a result of an apartment fire.

I've been in a similar position before. Sorry to hear that and best of luck dealing with everything that arises from it.

We cannot expel people because we don't like them. That is not how it works, nor should it be. I cannot support the expulsion on these grounds, and I truly hope you change your mind because we value you as much as we do everyone else in the party.

You know good and well that is not my reasoning, and please don't try to act like it is.

And I really really hope you guys change your mind, because I value being in the Federalist Party (this is why I didn't simply leave, and why I discussed this at length with all of you privately to try to find another solution). But the Federalist Party I know not in a party that just supports any anti-Atlasian asshole who happens to be "anti-socialist" or whatever, even though the only times he has cared about Atlasia has been to screw someone over--and he's not our ally because sometimes he happens to try to screw over Truman, too.

OK, what the hell did I just walk into? Heh.  Here's what I have to say.  FH is right....we can't expel somebody from the party just because somebody else happens to not get along with them.  The expulsion part of our rules is intended to be used when somebody is actually suspected of major wrongdoing.  We're all working for the same goal here; to make Atlasia better, and to defeat the Labor Party.  To that end, I would ask Leinad and Oakvale to work out their differences in private.

The issues here go much deeper than differences between two people, FWIW.

Leinad has proven time and time again that he has the party's best interests in mind, and that he's constantly trying to do the right thing. Oakvale has not proved either of those things. Everytime I see him on iirc,  he's insulting someone.

Leinad has earned my trust, and I will be voting with him. Frankly, the lack of support for someone who has done so much for us is embarrassing. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

What an utterly absurd statement. "Leinad has done a lot for the Party so we must support his unhinged personal vendetta". It is you who should be ashamed of yourself for debasing yourself in such a manner.

The nature of Leinad is to help, and your nature is to destroy. I trust him. Supporting a friend when he's right is hardly debasing myself.

Tell me more about my nature, I haven't been psychoanalysed in a while. What a foul thing to say.

I'm just speaking from what I've seen, and being as honest as I can. I don't insult people needlessly, as much as I can prevent myself from doing at least. Truly, you take what I said and do whatever you want to do with it. If I'm wrong with my assessment, I'll take it back, but only until you either prove me wrong or make an effort to change.

The effort to change is really the key part here. I've posted on this forum for a long time and I have seen plenty of Oakvale's contributions. Leinad's post illustrating the various ways in which Oakvale has tried to undermine the republic don't surprise me in the slightest. Sure they were a while ago, but Oakvale hasn't really evinced an effort to change.

I second the motion to proceed to a vote on the motion to expel.

I motion that the Federalist Party revokes the endorsement of Greedo the Hunter for Atlasia House of Representatives for the February election.

Greedo throughout his time on this forum and game has been known to troll and has not acted with civility in interactions with several other Atlasians. These actions are unbecoming of a Federalist Party candidate and his actions do not support the values of the Federalist Party.

I second the motion to unendorse.

Friends,

I wish to apply for readmission to the Federalist Party as a full member in good standing.

I have been elected to Congress as a Federalist by the people of Atlasia and sit in that chamber as a member of the party. I will, God willing, soon be serving in the Cabinet of a Federalist president, whom I campaigned for and voted for in the last election.

In addition to these imperatives, I furthermore believe that there is reason to believe that the expulsion of political party members may, under current statute, be unconstitutional.

Let us turn the page on an unfortunate chapter in our history.

It came to my attention at too late a stage that there is no law providing for political parties to be able to expel their members. For my part as someone who supported the expulsion effort, I view it as null and void in light of this fact. That is, while it is not my determination to make, I am of the opinion that you should still legally count as a full member in good standing.
