hmm.  he must really have some skeletons in the closet.

Or he must really want to run for President himself in the near future.

he had the perfect opportunity this year...and he passed.



"Perfect opportunity" between the twin juggernauts of Hillary and Obama?  With so much interest and attention going toward those two, even the VP nominee the last time around could barely get noticed. 

"Family concerns" matches with what I heard him say when he pulled himself out of the running for the nomination.  He has three daughters in the teen and pre-teen age range and wants to be near home at this time in their lives.  He may have nights out of town while running for Senate -- it's probably a 6-7 hr drive from DC to Bristol -- but I'd bet he's home a lot more often than he would be if he were the presumptive Democratic nominee for President.  It doesn't necessarily mean skeletons in his closet.
