The video is actually very good. He should have recorded this video on November 6 or 7 when it became clear that he had lost the election.

He should resign now to avoid being impeached and Pence should pardon him.

Last line clear hint for 2024. If he truly does leave office on January 20th and nothing weird happens again then that's his plan.

This is why he needs to be impeached and convicted. Or facing conviction, convinced to resign.

Don't know his usual politics but this seems big.

Just recently he was part of leadership has the head of the NRCC.

The leadership has decided to get rid of Trump.

McConnell is pissed. He's just fired the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms.
Next to go - Trump.

God's how in God's name can you say he deserves pardoned? Is this just a way of pardoning your own conscience for supporting this neo-Nazi?

No. It's just an embarrassment to the country to have a former President prosecuted for crimes and possibly convicted.

🤔

I assume these are against the rioters?

God. How many of these people will Trump take the opportunity to issue a last-minute pardon for? Better than fifty-fifty odds he does so for everybody put them folks charged with killing the cop.

He denounced them in his video after they did his bidding.

Is it just me, or is the very real possibility that Trump's crimes go well beyond incitement being criminally ignored? European security officials are suspecting that federal law enforcement was directed to enable or assist the attempt coup: https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-attempted-coup-federal-law-enforcement-capitol-police-2021-1

Certainly would explain some of the gross misconduct of Capitol Police, and Trump's refusal to activate the National Guard.

I've believed this since the revelation that Trump had blocked the DC National Guard from being deployed. The media has not really gone at the "Trump tried to overthrow the government" angle, and I agree with you, that's a big disservice.

I wonder what the plan was. To storm the Capitol, make the members of Congress invalidate electoral votes from seven contested states, force them to vote for President in the House of Representatives and elect Trump.

The FBI arrested the guy who ransacked Pelosi's office and sat in her chair.
Were they able to recover the letter he took?

Thank God. And I don't believe that is a hyperbolic statement whatsoever. Mass prosecution's of these people who almost universally escaped arrest on that day is a crucial part of History establishing the wrongness of this traitorous violent insurrection.

Now if they'll just go after the ringleader....

They have a very good defense. They were instructed to do so by the President of the United States. They believed they were doing the right thing.

Not a good defense. Only thing that will do is further implicate trump and strengthen the case against him.

It is a good defense, because culpability depends on your perception of right and wrong.

Wouldn’t that put one in more legal jeopardy not let less.

‘You stand accused of unlawful entry, disorderly conduct, and vandalism’
‘Oh no, your honor, I was trying to overthrow the government on the President’s behalf. He told me to.’

He wouldn't say that.

‘Oh no, your honor, I was trying to stop the steal. The President told me to.’

It seems that Trump's business will be hurt a lot.
If I were him, I would sell all assets as soon as possible.

It'll be tough. Ongoing criminal investigations, hesitance from even Russian or Chinese banks to finance him, business partners fleeing, and an extremely depressed hospitality industry could mean he can't even afford to sell.

Regardless, he needs to sell and fast, because the price is going down, fast.

From his podcast episode yesterday, Dan Crenshaw calls out Trump, Giuliani, etc. pretty brutally.

"There is nothing to be proud of. There is no patriotism to be had by what happened...Don't call yourself a patriot by what happened. You got someone killed. You accomplished nothing."

"...but none of them were amping up January 6th. None of them were telling people to come and fight, and stand, and 'This is your revolution!...people I just mentioned (Congressmen with military experience who protected the Capitol during the coup) actually know what a fight looks like. The people who did hype everybody up, and you know who you are, and all of you know who they are, they were nowhere to be found. These cowards - who've never been in a fight themselves, who created one and then ran."

Slight on-the-fence-ism as is Crenshaw's signature trait, but I'm really impressed that he's willing to risk his 2024 primary odds this way. I saw him as one who would defend the events that happened.

Trump brand will be toxic by 2024.

Trump Terrorists are being added to the no-fly list:

It’s amazing that they genuinely seemed to think there would be no consequences.

Am I the only one who thinks Trump can recover from this by 2024?
Or am I just a doomer?

Stick a fork in him.

This, anyone with half a brain has changed their perspective from this week's events. Look at that Jeanine Pirro vid, even she's flipping on him.  Only the diehards are left.

At best if he can even run (i.e. no impeachment conviction/ban) in 2024, he'll be a fringe candidate that only wins a few states on a independent ticket.  That's if the states even allow him on the ticket.

Yes. I wonder if his endorsement will still be sought after, or would instead be toxic.
If he is in dire straits financially by then, he may be paid off not to participate in the primary.

BTW. While I don't expect you'll give much of a rat's backside about this, based on your posting the last few days, welcome back to being off my ignore list. Cheesy

FWIW.....

Nice. My ignore list is empty. Smiley
