This is going to be a continuation of sorts to the Harry Turtledove saga of the South wins the Civil War. You, the voters will decide the nominees, the new president and also the decisions that the President will make. The votes for laws and acts will be a backing of how much the people back the act but it isn't written in stone so the President could decide against this, etc. So lets get going!

Harry Turtledove is a talentless hack.

Agreed, but I would go further than that Hashemite. I would state that he's one of the worst alternative history writers known to man. Even the writer who wrote an alternative history scenario, where they claimed that President Gore would be considered a "lame duck" President is a better writer than Turtledove.

I know there bad and completely off the wall and not connected to reality but they pass the time and all the alt Civil War books are for some reason terrible.

After Dewey's nomination he would keep Vice President Truman as his VP.

Stassen would decide upon former Kansas Governor Payne Ratner of Kansas for his Vice President.

The suprise candidate Hubert Humphrey would call upon strong retribution to the south and an expansion of blacks rights in the occupied south and the United States. He would choose New York Governor W. Averall Harriman as his VP.

In all of the suprises, Mayor Hubert Humphrey would win the presidency against incumbent President Thomas Dewey, in a show of bipartisanship Hubert Humphrey would offer the earliest opening on the Supreme Court. The first of Humphrey's "New Plan" project would be the passage of the Civil Rights Amendments Act that would create an amendment to the Constitution that would guarantee African American rights in the US and also the "Statue" Act that would implace a "Hall Of Heroes" in Richmond of US Generals that served during the Second Great War. Also the "GATO" or the German American Treaty Organization would be proposed by Democrats in Congress and would have the backing of the German government, many would say that the GATO organization could be a step to calm some of the mistrust that was brewing between the US and Germany. There would also be some stirring up of anger in the South by the growing "Freedomist Guard" and President Humphrey would be quick to address this by passing a law baning the Freedomist Guard in the Occupied CSA.
