Warner doesn't seem to be nearly as much as he has been cracked up to be.... I agree that his speech had potential, but he is not nearly as inspiring as some have presented him to be.

I'm glad he didn't volunteer, nor was asked to be VP.

He's picking up a little bit now that he's talking about small town America.

I like the Western Democratic populist, pro-gun rights, environmental, and progressive style.

Schweitzer's stock just went up dramatically in my book.

Hillary was amazing... easily the best speech of the convention so far (except maybe Ted).

Based on my small sample size of instant reactions, this seems to have increased Obama's stock significantly dramatically amongst hardcore Hillary supporters.

What's your position on gun rights, if I may ask?

I believe that individuals should have the right to bear arms without government restriction so long as they have a clean criminal record with a reasonable waiting period for handguns and semi-automatic weapons. Individuals with mental health records should face a longer waiting period to determine that they are not a danger to society.

Individuals should be allowed to possess concealed weapons so long as they meet rigorous background checks and mandatory firearms safety classes.

Most of the gun owners I know, including several of my close co-workers are hunters that are totally responsible, most of whom vote Democrat or Green (for those partisans out there) and are simply sportsmen who would love to bag an Elk to bring home to friends and family.

Personally, I think that mandatory trigger locks are a good idea as a responsible parent, but I am not sure that the state should mandate such behavior.
