John Prine  not only tested positive for COVID-19. but it also appears that based upon his Medical Conditions and Statements from his family.... this looks bad indeed.

Not only is John Prine one my favorite singer-songwriter cross-over music folk/Country cross-over artists of all time, and as a Vietnam-Vet and postal worker wrote many classic songs when he was "discovered" way back in the days...

Vietnam Vet, Postal Worker from an Appalachian-American background.

Likely not a big name for many of you but...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Prine

https://www.johnprine.com/

Songs like Paradise

Sam Stone

Looks like I might be losing a rock n'roll legend that I only had the chance to see once live bcs of COVID-19:

How many more?Huh

John Prine just passed away today as a direct result of CoVid-19 complications...

https://www.theguardian.com/music/2020/apr/08/john-prine-songwriter-bob-dylan-johnny-cash-bruce-springsteen

RIP... John Prine

He's not going to be the last to pass of musical and other artistic legends, but please to help support the family and the major contribution that he has provided to American Music History, please purchase his albums and works, listen to the tunes of a man who contributed so much to our country and is now deceased at the hands of this disease, which so heavily is hitting our most vulnerable populations, as well as many who are seemingly healthy but are carrying the disease and acting like this is not a real deal....

Was crying for John Prine's family when I heard the news a few hours ago, and if it hasn't hit home yet in your communities, it is coming for you....

This is not a joke and most likely we will lose more Americans in the next few Months than during the entire Vietnam War....
John Prine was one hell of a talent. His music and untimely demise has affected many people I know personally too.

Thanks Sanchez...

I know we have frequently disagreed on various political positions, and occasionally exchanged a few words over the years, and as I stated we are already seeing musical legends die from COVOID-19....

Even saw one of my favorite artists Willie Nelson in "self quarantine" in his ranch outside of Austin just the other day on a major news channel talking about what he is trying to do to stay safe and healthy.

Reality is that there are so many Americans dying each and every day, where statistics and tolls start to get to the point where we lose track of how this virus is hitting every single community, regarding of race, ethnicity, income level, etc....

Sometimes it takes a "face" for every American to realize this is something that can hit anybody at any time, where if I catch the virus could give it to my wife who is diabetic, who works in a care facility with patients who are extremely vulnerable, as we have seen initially in WA State, the Veterans Hospital in Lebanon, Oregon, and similar facilities all around our Great Nation....

Got a bit of a depression going now with everything going down, so trying to keep a happy face, but man this is some hard s**t and now it's even rolling into places like Metro Detroit, Chi-Town, Philly, & DC....

Hard to keep happy in such dark times as the body bags keep piling up throughout America, with many more to come...

Peace & Love Sanchez----

Naturally in the era of COVOID-19 gotta give a shot out to the Working-Class Heroes keeping us safe, while meanwhile they are more likely to be exposed to the virus...

Essential workers driving trucks, working in the fields, postal workers, MFG workers, Postal Workers, Warehouse Workers, Cops, Firefighters, & Health Care Workers, & Farmers....

HELLO AMERICA.... LET ME THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME....

"Forty Hour Week (For A Livin')"

There are people in this country
Who work hard every day
Not for fame or fortune do they strive
But the fruits of their labor
Are worth more than their pay
And it's time a few of them were recognized.

Hello Detroit auto workers,
Let me thank you for your time
You work a forty hour week for a livin',
Just to send it on down the line
Hello Pittsburgh steel mill workers,
Let me thank you for your time
You work a forty hour week for a livin',
Just to send it on down the line.

This is for the one who swings the hammer,
Driving home the nail
Or the one behind the counter,
Ringing up the sale
Or the one who fights the fires,
The one who brings the mail
For everyone who works behind the scenes.

You can see them every morning
In the factories and the fields
In the city streets and the quiet country towns
Working together like spokes inside a wheel
They keep this country turning around.

Hello Kansas wheat field farmer,
Let me thank you for your time
You work a forty hour week for a livin',
Just to send it on down the line
Hello West Virginia coal miner,
Let me thank you for your time
You work a forty hour week for a livin',
Just to send it on down the line.

This is for the one who drives the big rig,
Up and down the road
Or the one out in the warehouse,
Bringing in the load
Or the waitress, the mechanic,
The policeman on patrol
For everyone who works behind the scenes.

With a spirit you can't replace with no machine
Hello America, let me thank you for your time...

Although I haven't been a Vegetarian in over (20) Years, although my Wife became a Vegetarian shortly after we met about (15) Years back, and I have essentially viewed Meat more like a 1-2x/Week dietary item, it is becoming increasingly clear that the way in which humans treat animals has been a major cause of major diseases among humans.

The Factory Farm systems globally, where animals are penned together in close quarters in the slaughterhouses and meat-markets throughout the world, is considered a direct contributor to most of the major "Flu-Type" Pandemics that have caused massive amounts of Human Deaths from associated illnesses.

Additionally, not only do we have conditions where historically animals designed for human meat consumption have faced all sorts of abuses within the factory-farms of America (And elsewhere), but additionally, the question needs to be raised about how we treat fellow Human Beings within such conditions.

It is not an accident that some of the biggest COVID-19 hot-spots within the United States are also occurring within the same Factories where we treat animals with such brutality.

At this point, I am virtually on the edge of either quitting eating meat altogether or at minimum pledging to only buy "cruelty free", and "organic meat" in the interest of protecting not only animal rights, but also human rights.

Me and my wife were just dancing to this song after she just got off work as an "essential worker", which was a song she used to dance to in the warehouses and meat-processing places in a massive large local grocery store not so many miles down the road....

Surprised nobody else has posted it since Trump's visit "walking the line" in a Manufacturing Plant in Arizona...

Could be a generational deal, but as a Gen-Exer Guns and Roses was a major thing... my wife even bought me a retro G & R shirt about 8 years back as present...

Naturally on the eve of the Oregon 2020 Primary Election, it would need to be song about down-state Oregon:

My next door neighbor is a good kid from Central Oregon, who just turned 21 recently who is going to school, and commuting over to drive some heavy eqpt for a Gypo outfit (Indy Logging Gig)...

Shared a few Beers and shots of Whiskey with him and his GF, and some friends a couple times (After he turned 21) a few Months back....

Drives the big rig (Fixed for max performance), has the patch on his Rig and the Hoodie with a big Tree (Part of some of the protests against Carbon Emission Bills that Indy Operators saw as benefiting the big Timber Outfits) from some protests that were organized a little while back in Oregon Timber Country, mainly led by Independent Truckers.

He's worn a MAGA hat a few times, until my wife told him it hurt her eyeballs, and he hasn't worn it since.... got 2-3 firearms, which he told me one Night, about a Month back, after he pulled in from a late shift going to have a few drinks with some fellow workers after a long day.

We had just a recent incident with a crazy local Tweaker an hour before, threatening us in our complex, so we stroll out with a Baseball Bat as a Cane, and I'm packing a hammer in my open hoodie pocket (Just in Case)....

Still, many of us down here are a bit ornery, but we take care of our own.

Considering that within the current climate, we are experiencing levels of growing unrest against local police departments throughout the United States, at a point not seen since the Rodney King uprising of '92, where some (16) Years later we had the first election of a Black President of the United States of America...

Naturally, we need to look at some historical music from our English Neighbors from across the Pond...

This was a classic "Peace Punk Anthem" from back in the days, saw them play it live a few times, and again although they would likely consider themselves Anarchist Punk Rock musicians, the song represents righteous rage, while at the same time not promoting violence at a time in the history of the UK, where massive uprisings were breaking across the streets, housing estates, and neighborhoods of much of England, not to mention similar style activism in places such as Scotland & Wales....

Politicians kept changing their cloths and parties and tried to control what was a burning ember, which ended up exploding later on at the time of the Poll Tax Rebellion of the early '90s....

Subhumans: Subvert City:

"And it all went quiet in the city
And the wind blew down the road
Someone cried out "Subvert"
And the people all went cold

Subvert, subvert, subvert, SUBVERT

Meanwhile back in Subvert City
Someone's writing on the wall
" the government" spray-paint hero
Someone wants the state to fall
Religious dogma crucified
Ritual slaughter, no one lied
Living standards were dying morals
A state-controlled mass suicide

And it all went quiet in the city
And the wind blew down the road
Someone cried out "Subvert"
And the people all went cold

Subvert, subvert, subvert, SUBVERT

The dying breed of Subvert City
Crept into the underground
The state police just left them there
Blocked the holes, and gassed them down
Ten years later they emerged
Mutated minds so full of hate
Tried again to change the system
But this time round it was too late
There was no system left to change
The people ran the entire land
The subverts became politicians
And finally got the upper hand

Meanwhile back in Subvert City
Someone's writing on the wall
" the government" spray-paint hero
But in Subvert City, it's subvert rule

Subvert, subvert, subvert, subvert
"

Bob Dylan: Subterranean Homesick Blues

Somehow topical...

"Johnny's in the basement
Mixing up the medicine
I'm on the pavement
Thinking about the government
The man in the trench coat
Badge out, laid off
Says he's got a bad cough
Wants to get it paid off
Look out kid
It's somethin' you did
God knows when
But you're doing it again
You better duck down the alley way
Lookin' for a new friend
A man in the coonskin cap, in the pig pen
Wants eleven dollar bills, you only got ten
Maggie comes fleet foot
Face full of black soot
Talkin' that the heat put
Plants in the bed but
The phone's tapped anyway
Maggie says that many say
They must bust in early May
Orders from the D.A. Look out kid
Don't matter what you did
Walk on your tip toes
Don't tie no bows
Better stay away from those
That carry around a fire hose
Keep a clean nose
Watch the plain clothes
You don't need a weather man
To know which way the wind blows
Oh, get sick, get well
Hang around a ink well
Hang bail, hard to tell
If anything is goin' to sell
Try hard, get barred
Get back, write braille
Get jailed, jump bail
Join the army, if you fail
Look out kid
You're gonna get hit
But losers, cheaters
Six-time users
Hang around the theaters
Girl by the whirlpool
Lookin' for a new fool
Don't follow leaders, watch the parkin' meters
Oh, get born, keep warm
Short pants, romance
Learn to dance, get dressed, get blessed
Try to be a success
Please her, please him, buy gifts
Don't steal, don't lift
Twenty years of schoolin'
And they put you on the day shift
Look out kid
They keep it all hid
Better jump down a manhole
Light yourself a candle
Don't wear sandals
Try to avoid the scandals
Don't want to be a bum
You better chew gum
The pump don't work
'Cause the vandals took the handles"

Phil Ochs: "Links on the Chain"

Folk singer from the '60s... have this song on vinyl, although need a new needle, so YouTube it is   Sad

Lyrics & chord structure for anyone practicing guitar during the shutdown

"A C D A
Come you ranks of labor, come you union core,
C D A
And see if you remember the struggles of before,
F#m D E
When you were standing helpless on the outside of the door
Bm E A
And you started building links on the Chain.
Bm D E A
On the Chain, you started building links on the Chain.
When the police on the horses were waitin' on demand,
ridin' through the strike with the pistols in their hands,
Swingin' at the skulls of many a union man,
As you built one more link on the chain, on the chain,
As you built one more link on the chain.
Then the army of the fascists tried to put you on the run,
but the army of the union, they did what could be done,
Oh, the power of the factory was greater than the gun,
As you built one more link on the chain, on the chain,
As you built one more link on the chain.
And then in 1954, decisions finally made,
The black man was a-risin' fast and racin' from the shade,
And your union took no stand and your union was betrayed,
As you lost yourself a link on the chain, on the chain,
As you lost yourslef a link on the chain.
And then there came the boycotts and then the freedom rides,
And forgetting what you stood for, you tried to block the tide,
Oh, the automation bosses werre laughin' on the side,
As they watched you lose your link on the chain, on the chain,
As they watched you lose your link on the chain.
You know when they block your trucks boys, by layin' on the road,
All that they are doin' is all that you have showed,
That you gotta strike, you gotta fight to get what you are owed,
When you're building all your links on the chain, on the chain,
When you're building all your links on the chain.
Amd the man who tries to tell you that they'll take your job away,
He's the same man who was scabbin' hard just the other day,
And your union's not a union till he's thrown out of the way,
And he's chokin' on your links of the chain, of the chain,
And he's chokin' on your links of the chain.
For now the times are tellin' you the times are rollin' on,
And you're fighting for the same thing, the jobs that will be gone,
Now it's only fair to ask you boys, which side are you on?
As you're buildin' all your links on the chain, on the chain,
As you're buildin' all your links on the chain.
