- snip -

It appears IndyRep may have gotten his wish, because the Democratic Leadership is really hammering on the Q thing.

Is this really going to stick though? The GOP has called every Democrat that walked for the past decade  a socialist, and it doesn't really move the needle much. I'm not sure calling every Republican that walks QAnon is going to move the needle much either

Republicans have nothing to back up calling Democrats socialists, so it isn't effective. The public has had an opportunity to do see that many Republicans are either connected to Q-Anon or unwilling to condemn it.

The socialist label has stuck much better since Democrats actually began calling themselves socialists.

These ads don't just happen in a vacuum.  The GOP tests them and knows they're effective.  And if you talk to real voters you will see that.

Lmao she lives rent free in Dems heads. Congratulations for making her a star, I guess?

I don’t know what you guys are trying to accomplish tbh, but I won’t interrupt my rivals as they make a mistake.

Please keep promoting her and talking about her.  Make her your new God to replace Trump, whom you now hate.

The GOP desperately needs a new face and she'll do nicely.  And since she just lost 85% of her power in Congress, she'll have plenty of free time to spend on talk shows and right-wing media promoting herself and her brand as synonymous with the GOP.

Onwards and downwards!

I don't really like this being a partisan vote.

However, Democrats have been clear about where the line is.

"I want my colleagues to be killed."
"Please assassinate my colleagues."
"Send me to Congress to kill these 3 Democrats."

That is the line.

There are a lot of really nasty, horrible people in the Republican conference.  Lots of them have done nasty, horrible things.  Jim Jordan (OH-04) facilitated the sexual abuse of college students.  But that doesn't come close to crossing the line.  Scott DesJarlais (TN-04) f--ked his patients when he was a doctor, as well as his employees, and then forced them to have abortions.  You probably didn't even know that because hey, we're not talking about kicking him off any committees.

If this really were a revenge trip, we'd also punish Louie Gohmert, Devin Nunes, Matt Gaetz, Mo Brooks, Andy Biggs, Lauren Boebert, and Madison Cawthorn, for starters.  8 Republicans we absolutely loathe and who richly deserve punishment.  But we didn't even discuss it.

The shame isn't that Democrats took this step.  The shame is that they were forced to because Republicans wouldn't.  The disgusting cowardice of the Republican Party knows no bottom.  If AOC went around calling for Kevin McCarthy to be killed, and campaigned on an implied promise to blow McCarthy's brains out, and celebrated when he was attacked by a mob of AOC stans who wanted to kill him, you bet your ass we'd strip her assignments.  We'd probably try to kick her out of the House entirely.  And this move would be supported by 100% of Democrats.  Anyone who doesn't believe this is just lying to themselves.

Anyone remember William Jefferson?  In 2006, the FBI found a bunch of money in his freezer.  Turns out he was running a corruption racket.  Democrats kicked him off his committees.  Now he's in prison.

Republicans have more criminals in their party, because their party sucks, so they've had to use this move more often.  Duncan Hunter, stripped.  Chris Collins, stripped.  Steve King, stripped.
The GOP has also frequently used committee stripping as a revenge tactic.  Justin Amash, stripped.  Tim Huelskamp, stripped.  Dave Schweikert, stripped.  Walter Jones, stripped.  All guys who spoke up against party leadership.

By the way, Dennis Hastert and Mark Foley raped little boys.  This doesn't have anything to do with this topic but I just wanted to remind you that your party sucks.  You guys even made up a rule in 2014 to avoid passing bipartisan legislation and named it after Hastert.

So this isn't some unheard of tactic.  And Republicans have demonstrated that they're willing to use it for far less than what MTG has done.  And the truth is, we all know that they want her stripped of her assignments.  GOP members have been leaking to the press all week that they hoped the leadership would do something.  Even the leadership condemned her.  But they were too cowardly to take the final step.  They all wanted this to happen.  But they were so terrified of retribution that they sat on the bench and made Democrats do it for them.  Well, you're welcome.

And now they have the temerity to offer up phony outrage and shock and anger and pretend like this is somehow equivalent to them kicking Omar (admittedly, a horrible person) off her committees for attacking Jews or whatever.  When we all know that's malarkey.  Even the Republicans in this thread know that's malarkey.

They are disgusting.  They are cowards.  And they should be utterly ashamed of themselves for playing monday-morning quarterback after we had to go in and win their game for them.

She's already hurting the democrat, they've got a new money sink which will shred their cash even further.

No Democrat will ever win that district.  He should run as a Republican and primary her, he'd have a better chance.

It would be really entertaining for him to run a campaign that's nothing more than "death to the confederacy" and see if he can get MTG to defend the confederacy.  That would work wonders for Georgia turnout.

The only thing that changes Fuzzy's opinion is when Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh tell him it's time to have a different opinion.

And it doesn't bother him at all that they tell him to believe completely contradictory things from one day to the next.  They just say "it's not contradictory, you idiot" and he repeats that.  Done.

Fuzzy is basically an HTML page that Fox and right-wing talk radio edit on a daily basis with new beliefs and arguments supporting those beliefs.  Discussing anything with him is the equivalent of scrolling around for a bit and then hitting refresh.  Like, that's all you're doing.  He's not a real person.  Don't treat him like one.

And lest you think I am unfairly picking on Fuzzy, I think the same is true of the vast majority of Trump supporters.
