It's a shame NC elected a nut like Perdue. McCrory would've been a great governor like he's been a great mayor for Charlotte.

McCrory would have easily won if it weren't for the Obama coattails in Mecklenberg county (and pretty much everywhere else).

No he wouldn't.

Yes, he would've. Obama needed everything to go perfectly to win in NC, and it did. Otherwise, McCrory and McCain win, but Dole still loses.

No, I'm not saying McCrory wouldn't have won. I was saying he wouldn't have won easily. He would have won by the same margin that Bev won by.

That's still a majority of the vote, and thus an easy win.

I disagree, because Obama had MASSIVE coattails in Mecklenberg county, where he was mayor.  He would have likely won the county by 10 points or so if Obama wasn't in the running.  Also, check out western NC.  There is no way Perdue would have won those collection of counties by those margins, or even at all.

I still say a 5 point win for McCrory.
